UK dairy co-op First Milk has appointed director Robert Shearlaw to the newly-created role of vice chairman.

The company said Shearlaw, who has been a First Milk director since 2003, would start his three-year tenure on 1 June.

“We have had requests from our retailer customers for senior farmer input to help them understand the dairy industry and play a role in developing stronger relationships,” First Milk chairman Richard Greenhalgh.
