UK-based food manufacturer Flynns Fine Foods has entered into administration resulting in the loss of 40 jobs.

Gregg Sterritt and Stephen Armstrong of RSM McClure Watters have been appointed joint administrators of Empire Meats Ltd trading as Flynns Fine Foods. The firm was placed into administration on 4 September.

RSM said the company had experienced “deterioration in trading” in recent months that resulted in “significant cashflow pressures”.

It led to the company ceasing to trade prior and 40 employees being made redundant on 5 September.

The company produces sliced cooked meats, bacon, pork and gammon to retailers in Ireland and the UK. The company is also engaged in the production of frozen foods and catering products.

Flynns operated from a factory in Roslea, County Fermanagh.
