The UK government has replaced its food and health secretaries as part of a Cabinet reshuffle.
Owen Paterson has been named as the new Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. He replaces Caroline Spelman in the role.
Health secretary Andrew Lansley – the architect of the Government’s Responsibility Deal with the food industry – has been replaced by former culture secretary Jeremy Hunt.
Lansley has been handed a new role as leader of the House of Commons.
Food and farming minister Jim Paice was also replaced in his role, by Liberal Democrat MP David Heath.
