The Food Standards Agency today welcomed the appointment of its board member Valerie Howarth to the House of Lords. She is one of 15 new peers appointed today.

I have no doubt that with her wealth of experience she will make a significant contribution to the work of the House of Lords. Valerie Howarth has been a member of the Agency Board since inception, 1st April 2000. She is the Chief Executive of Childline.
