UK ice cream maker Frederick’s Dairies has launched two iced lollies under Britvic’s Fruit Shoot and R Whites brands.
Frederick’s has signed a ten-year licensing deal with Britvic, which gives it access to brands including Robinsons, Fruit Shoot and J20, it said yesterday (17 January). As a result, Frederick’s has launched two products, with plans for a further raft of new lines over the next few years.
Fruit Shoot Squeeze-Up Ice Lollies are available in two variants: Apple & Blackcurrant, and Orange. The product is “low in sugar and contains natural flavours”, Frederick’s said.
An 110ml Apple and Blackcurrant Squeeze-Up Ice Lollies will retail at GBP1.00 (US$1.54), while take home six-packs of Orange and Apple & Blackcurrant Mini Squeeze-Up Ice Lollies will be sold for GBP2.79.
R Whites Lemonade Lollies are available in a 75ml format for GBP1 (US$1.53) each and a three-pack for GBP2.29.
Both launches will be supported by an undisclosed marketing, PR and ‘Secret Lemonade Lolly Licker’ social media campaign.

By GlobalData“Not only is Britvic a ‘super licence’ in terms of the impact it will have on our business, but the quality and breadth of it’s portfolio of brands means we can introduce some genuinely radical and exciting products to a category which has suffered from a lack of imagination and inspiration in recent years,” said Frederick’s deputy managing director David Taylor.
Frederick’s sells products including ice cream under the Cadbury brand and iced lollies under the Del Monte brand.
