Around 1,400 workers at Grampian Foods have started strike action over pay and pensions, union officials confirmed today (12 April).

The UK’s Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU) said that employees have launched industrial action at six sites across the country.


Grampian workers seeking improvements in pay and pensions, as well as parity for agency staff.


The TGWU said planned action at a Grampian site in Norfolk was called off yesterday. It added that the company remains in pay talks with workers at four more sites in England.


Officials at Grampian could not be reached for comment as just-food went to press.
