UK bakery group Greggs has told shareholders today (14 May) that it has enjoyed a “satisfactory” performance over the last 18 weeks.
At the company’s AGM, chairman Derek Netherton said sales were up almost 5% on the year thanks in part from more of its retail outlets opening on Sundays.
“As a result of this sales performance, operating profit in the year to date is ahead of our budget and the comparable period last year,” Netherton said.
Greggs will announce its first-half results on 31 July.
