Heinz has claimed a product first in the frozen aisle in the UK with the launch of a range of ready-to-serve frozen soups.


The soups, to be sold under the Weight Watchers from Heinz brand, can be steam-cooked in the microwave in less than eight minutes. The soups have been launched to meet demand for “a heartier low-calorie lunchtime option”, the company said today (9 October).


“Weight Watchers from Heinz is driving growth across the total frozen food market – a staggering 80% of all NPD volume is incremental to the brand,” said Amanda Walker, marketing director at Heinz Frozen UK.


The range of soups, dubbed Chunky Soup Meals, comes in four flavours.
