The UK unit of US food giant Heinz is reportedly planning to change its baked beans recipe due to consumer concerns over high salt levels in processed foods.
Heinz will begin reducing the salt content of its baked beans this summer and also plans to reduce the salt content of many of its other food products, reported the Grocer.
The move aims to bring the salt content of Heinz’s products below the government’s 0.875% target.
