The batch, sold on Ocado (www.ocado.com), and bought on or after 2 August 2009, may contain peanuts, an ingredient not mentioned on the label, the Food Standards Agency said.

The batch, removed by Empire Food Brokers, the UK distributor of the cookies, includes Hershey’s Chocolate Reeses Cookies in 56g packs.

The company said it will be contacting the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members of the withdrawal.

All customers who have purchased the product from the Ocado website are being contacted to be provided with an explanation as to why the product has been withdrawn from sale, and, if they have bought this product, how they can get a refund.
