Meat packer Hilton Food Group has indicated that it will continue to seek ways to grow its business after an “encouraging” start to the year.
In its interim management statement released this morning (13 May), management said that the company has seen an “encouraging” start to the year, with positive sales trends across key markets in western Europe.
“In Western Europe we have made good progress and have seen encouraging sales trends. There are signs that a number of economies are emerging from the recession,” the company suggested.
In Holland, Hilton said that its business continued to benefit from its first full year of spreadable meats production.
The company also began exporting to Estonia, which resulted in double-digit sales gains in central Europe.
Meanwhile, in Denmark, Hilton said that it on-track to begin production at its new site in the second quarter of this year.
