Every year has its premier business event for the Catering, Foodservice and Hospitality industry. And next year’s is Hospitality Week 2001 (taking place 22nd to 25th January 2001, NEC, Birmingham). A ‘must’ for anyone involved in the hospitality industry – it could be the best business decision you’ll make.

In the fast-moving world of catering, Hospitality Week is where you will see the most innovative products, spot the coming trends and find the latest technology to keep you ahead of the game. Last year, more than 20,000 visitors did just that.

Over 500 key exhibitors – many making their debut – will be grouped not only into four easy-to-find sectors – Food & Drink; Catering Equipment; Furniture Furnishings & Tableware; and Premises, Facilities, Management & Technology. Look out for O’Neills Patisserie and British Pepper & Spice alongside key players from Pritchitt Foods, Nestlé, and Britvic; the newly-launched Onedis and GFE groups of companies together with Lincat, Turbochef Technologies and Foster; Viceroy and Brinton’s Carpets beside Duni, Ercol and Wedgewood to i-corporation and NFS Hospitality for technology solutions. From state-of-the-art computerised cooking equipment to home-grown, hand-made ingredients; trendy tableware to beautiful bathroom supplies – you need look no further.

Moving into its second decade, Hospitality Week has its own established features including Live Theatre, sponsored by Nestlé – part of the highly respected Heart of England Salon Culinaire. It’s where over 800 national and international chefs will be competing over the four days for gold, silver and bronze medals for some of the top titles in the country.

Brand new classes, reflecting today’s catering trends, include the Fairfax Meadow Pub Main Course where judges will look for the most creative meat, poultry or game course for a modern pub environment. The Ethnic Class provides the opportunity for chefs to demonstrate their expertise in ethnic cuisine using at least three ingredients from sponsors British Pepper & Spice. Also new for 2001 is an Organic Produce Class, and the Gallo Rice Master Class.

There are plenty of new things to see and do at Hospitality Week, to keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening. Visit the Ethnic Food Pavilion, bringing tastes of the world into the sphere of mainstream food service….. browse round the brand-new Design Pavilion, in association with the BCFA, featuring contemporary ideas for modernising your establishment, and the GS Design Showcase highlighting the key players in the field of design….. judge the latest innovations in the New Product Awards shortlist entries….. spot the stars of tomorrow in the Nestlé Toque d’Or Regional Finals….. network for new contacts at the Business Brunches, in association with ARENA….. dig out the best dot.com companies in the e-business Expo @ Hospitality Week pavilion….. meander around the serene art-gallery atmosphere of the Display Salon, sponsored by Compass Group UK with its spectacular carvings, models and decorative creations….dine at the unique La Parade des Chefs, sponsored by British Meat, the exhibition’s working restaurant where famous teams of chefs work in glass-walled kitchens….. or, if you are into pubs and clubs, take a trip along the Pub & Bar Trail, directing you to the latest in on-trade food service.
