US-based meat snack group Jack Link’s has confirmed that it is eyeing growth in the UK and other European markets with the launch of a series of new products over the next six months.
Jack Link’s will commence its expansion drive with the introduction of a range of “light” meat snacks, a spokesperson for the group confirmed today (3 November).
The company is launching X Bites and X Sticks – dried, seasoned sausage snacks with 27% fat.
Jack Link’s said that it anticipates that the new product launch will drive incremental growth in the category.
“The meat snacking market grew by 12% in 2008. Our new products add an exciting new dimension to a category that has for many years been dominated by one sausage snack,” Michael Ollerup, European MD, commented.

By GlobalData“Our sausages have less fat than leading competitive products, with no compromise on quality or taste. The other differentiator is that our products do not feature an outer skin and this format has researched very favourably with consumers,” he added.
Instore promotions and a wide-ranging marketing campaign will support the range throughout 2009, the company said.
