Kellogg has extended its Special K cereal range in the UK to include a limited-edition variant.

Hazelnut and Almond will be Kellogg’s its first all-nut cereal. The variant is made using a mix of wheat, rice, oats, hazelnuts and almonds, and adds to the ten varieties currently available under the Special K range.

Hazelnut and Almond is available in Tesco stores and will be in all other major supermarkets by May, Kellogg said. The variant will be available during 2012 only and will be priced at GBP2.69 (US$4.26) per 300g pack.

A GBP600,000 television marketing campaign will launch to promote the cereal, including advertising in mainstream TV programming and sponsorship of Channel 4 show Desperate Housewives.
