Discount retailer Lidl has appointed Ronny Gottschlich as the new managing director of its UK division.

He has been with the company for ten years, but has been a director of the retailer’s UK division for the past seven years.

He replaces Frank-Michael Mros, who stepped down from his role at the beginning of September.

Mros was appointed as the head of the discounter’s UK division in late 2009 after he stepped down from his role as managing director of its German division following a spying scandal.
