The confectionery giant quashed reports in the UK that it planned to resurrect the strapline some ten years after it was pulled.


Mars said it has used a variation of the slogan for its Mars Refuel beverage brand since April but insisted the original strapline would not be making a wider return.


“Since April, Mars Refuel has been using a strapline which reads ‘Work. Rest. Play longer.’ as part of campaign to promote the chocolate milk drink,” a Mars spokesperson told just-food this afternoon (13 September).


“There are no plans to revive the original ‘Work, Rest and Play’ strapline across the wider Mars product portfolio.”
