Mars Inc has refused to be drawn on reports that it is to restructure its UK confectionery operations.

The UK confectionery business of Mars is set to become independent from its European operations in a bid to boost its performance against rivals in the country, according to Marketing Week.
The firm’s UK’s chocolate business will now operate as a stand-alone business headed up by Fiona Dawson, the publication reported today (19 October), which said Dawson has been promoted from managing director to president of the UK chocolate business.
However, a spokesperson for Mars UK declined to comment when contacted by just-food today.
