Mars Inc’s chocolate arm has increased its investment in marketing and research and development in the UK, creating “several” new roles to drive innovation.
“Innovation is a key growth lever for Mars Chocolate,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food. “We have already set up new innovation teams, and are creating several new roles in marketing and R&D to build our cross functional innovation capability.”
The news has spurred speculation that the chocolate group is preparing a major UK push behind its brands, which include Snickers, Twix and the iconic Mars bar.
However, Mars declined to provide further details on the scale of the investment or whether the company is preparing to raise advertising or new product development levels in the market.
