Morrisons has confirmed reports that it has hired former Asda and Tesco executives to drive the expansion of its own-brand food range.
The UK’s number four grocer has hired Eleanor Scott from Tesco and Simon Mitchell from Asda, who will become joint heads of product development at Morrisons.
Scott joins from Tesco where she was the company’s central European product development manager.
Mitchell’s role at Asda was as head of brand product, responsible for the Wal-Mart-owned retailer’s own-label strategy.
