UK grocer Morrisons has created its first board-level marketing role.
The retailer has appointed Angus McIver, the UK marketing director at Prudential, as marketing and communications director. McIver will take up the role next month.
A Morrisons spokesman said the appointment was part of a wide-ranging review undertaken by chief executive Marc Bolland when he joined the company last year.
“It’s aimed at strengthening the business at board level and having people with direct responsibilities for areas of the business reporting into [Bolland],” the spokesman said.
