UK supermarket firm Wm Morrison has announced the sale by Safeway Stores (Ireland) of its store at Downpatrick, Northern Ireland to private buyers John and Helen Miskelly.

The value of the gross assets attributable to the store is £14.7m (US$25.9m), the company said. Completion will take place on 19 November 2005 and until that date the store will continue to trade as usual.

Morrisons sold a further 12 of its former Safeway Northern Ireland stores to rival Asda for around £73.6m in June.
