IT company NEC and Solit, a specialist in the development of collaborative Internet solutions and the provision of e-business and enterprise software for the process manufacturing and services markets, have announced a strategic alliance to market, distribute and support the FlexProcess ERP Suite for process manufacturing in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

FlexProcess is a new and complete ERP solution specifically designed for process manufacturers, and the alliance is expected to have a significant impact on the multimillion-pound process manufacturing marketplace in Europe.

Solit chairman Francois de Klerk commented: “Customers implementing a process-centric ERP solution prefer to work with one partner which can manage business, functional and technical aspects.

“Our fit with NEC is both a natural and a powerful one, as the synergies between FlexProcess and the Solit Tilos e-business portfolio, provide a compelling solution that embraces e-crm, business intelligence, collaborative commerce and much more.”

Toshikazu Shimomura, GM process & CPG industries division, NEC Solutions, added: “Solit’s appointment fits in well with our global strategy.

“Solit is the ideal partner to distribute, service and support NEC FlexProcess customers in EMEA.”

The companies believe that the potential market for NEC’s FlexProcess is vast, totalling hundreds of millions dollars, as process manufacturers make up a third of manufacturers worldwide and account for well over half the value of manufactured product.
