Nestle has decided to take its Aero chocolate brand into a new category in the UK with the launch of a biscuit bar.

The Swiss food giant plans to spend GBP4m marketing Aero Biscuit, which will become available by next Monday (25 April). The ad campaign, including TV, outdoor and press activity, will begin on 1 May.

Nestle said sales of Aero chocolate had grown by 8% in the last 12 months and claimed the biscuit bar would “continue this success”.

Trade communications manager Graham Walker added: “We’re really excited about moving the iconic AERO brand into the biscuit category. Aero Biscuit is set to bring new consumers who currently buy into chocolate confectionery into the biscuit category.”

The biscuit, with an RRP at GBP1.52, contains 99 calories and contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
