Danish retailer Netto has seen an increase in UK sales as consumers turn to the discount grocer to cut grocery bills.
Netto reported an 11% increase in UK turnover, which rose to GBP696.4m in the 12-months to 31 December last year.
The UK unit of Denmark’s Netto has said that it expects further sales and profits growth this year.
“Our sales are growing as people are increasingly looking for the best value possible without sacrificing quality. We are refurbishing our store base to make our offering more appealing,” a spokesperson for Netto UK told just-food.
Netto UK is refurbishing its 184 UK stores to include new shelving and a cleaner layout.
