UK onion supplier Veridian has expanded its production capacity by 50% to meet growing demand from food manufacturers.
The company, part of the Lingarden onion division based near Spalding, Lincolnshire, also aims to recruit more onion growers under long-term managed supply contracts.
“We anticipate further investment and additional capacity increases in the future, bringing benefits for our existing grower base and new opportunities for more growers to join our team,” said managing director Alan Christie.
Veridian supplies peeled, sliced and diced onions and onion puree to producers of ready meals and prepared salads. The company also supplies pre-packed fresh onions to UK supermarkets.
