UK pastie and pie maker Peter’s Food Service has opened a distribution depot in London to form part of its distribution network in the south-east of England.
Peter’s said the new site, at Sidcup in south-east London, would give the company the capacity to expand its business in the capital and the wider south east by 20%.
“Our ambition is clear – to develop the Peter’s brand within foodservice, work harder to ensure that we always meet our customers’ needs and grow our business through new sales channels. Our new distribution hub in Sidcup will play a pivotal role in helping us to achieve these objectives,” Neil Court-Johnston, MD of Peter’s foodservice division, said.
Peter’s, which makes a range of products from pies and pasties to sausages and saveloys, serves foodservice outlets but also UK multiples like Tesco and Asda. The UK retail sector accounts for 50% of its sales.
