Procter & Gamble (P&G) is launching a football-themed promotion for its Pringles snack brand.

The company is offering consumers the chance to meet football star Michael Owen and feature in the next Pringles TV ad.

P&G said the ‘Join the Dream Team’ promotion, the third in a series of football promotions from Pringles, would give retailers plenty of potential to maximise sales during the Euro 2008 football tournament this summer, even though none of the UK nations has qualified for the competition.

“Retailers should definitely continue to support the football activity this summer as with a packed sporting calendar consumers will continue to host parties and BBQs for these occasions,” said Paul Lettice, trade communications manager at P&G.

The on-pack promotion is being featured on the top four Pringles SKUs, Original, Sour Cream & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, and BBQ, from April 2008.
