Greenvale AP, the UK’s largest supplier of fresh potatoes, has bought local rival Swancote Foods for an undisclosed sum.
Greenvale said today (6 July) that it had snapped up Swancote, which is based in the West Midlands and serves the convenience, ready meal and food ingredient sectors.
Greenvale said the company would continue to trade under the Swancote name with the existing management left in place.
“This is a very positive and exciting move that is entirely complimentary to both businesses,” Greenvale said. “The benefits of such an acquisition flow in both directions and it is our firm belief that both businesses will be in a stronger position to meet the future challenges of the industry.”
