The chairman of Premier Foods plc is to step down from the UK’s largest food group after six years in the role.
David Kappler intends to step down once a successor has been identified, the Mr Kipling maker said today (1 February).
Kappler said: “After six hugely enjoyable years at Premier Foods, I have decided that this is an appropriate time for me to stand down. Following the successful completion of the acquisitions and integration of the Campbell’s and RHM businesses and the recent financial restructuring, the group is now in a strong position and well placed for the future.”
Robert Schofield, CEO of Premier Foods, thanked Kappler for his “significant contribution to the group”.
“His guidance and counsel over the years have been instrumental in the delivery of our strategy since flotation,” he added.
