The executive shake-up at Premier Foods plc has continued, with the UK’s largest food group creating a new role of group marketing director.
The Hovis, Bisto and Mr Kipling maker today (8 December) announced the appointment of Jon Goldstone to the newly-created role.
Goldstone, who has been at Premier for three years, will move from his current job of Hovis marketing director on 1 January. He will report to Tim Kelly, who was yesterday named as Premier’s chief operating officer.
Kelly said: “The creation of this new group marketing function will play a key role in the delivery of our strategy to accelerate branded growth. I am delighted to welcome Jon into this new role. He will bring a focus on marketing excellence across the entire business.”
Premier, which is said to be facing investor pressure to reduce its debts and is in talks to sell its meat-free business, including Quorn, has also appointed Paul Kitchener to another new role – technical and innovation director.
Kitchener joins Premier after six years as chief executive at UK biscuit maker Burton’s Foods. He will report directly to Premier CEO Robert Schofield.
