The bakery division of Premier Foods has reportedly suspended deliveries to struggling UK retail chain Kwik Save.

When contacted by just-food today (4 June) Premier said that it was unable to comment on commercial agreements. However, it is understood that the decision follows “payment problems” similar to those that are believed to have prompted Arla to suspend milk deliveries to Kwik Save last week.

Deliveries of cigarettes, chilled and frozen goods are also understood to be experiencing disruption.

Further reports in the UK press have suggested that Grant Thornton will be appointed as Kwik Save administrators, should the company fail to find necessary funding to remain afloat.

The company declined to comment on such speculation.
