Quality Street ice cream sticks will be released onto the UK market from September in a bid to sell frozen versions of the traditional chocolate brand in time for Christmas.

The ice cream range will feature the three biggest selling sweets from Quality Street tins – purple, green and orange.

The purple Quality Street has caramel ice cream packed with praline hazelnuts and caramel sauce, while green is praline flavour ice cream blended with a praline sauce, and orange features chocolate orange ice cream with crunchy orange sugar crystals. All are covered with chocolate, retailing at GBP2.29 (US$4.36) for a box of 3.

The launch is part of ice cream manufacturer Richmond Ice Cream’s extension of its Nestlé Ice Cream range for Winter 2006.

Richmond is also launching Fab cone, an ice cream cone version of the lolly range and a new ‘light’ variant of the company’s Lyons Maid ice cream brand.
