The managing director of UK-based Real Good Food Co. (RGFC) has decided to leave the company, it was announced today (11 July).

John Gibson has decided to quit for “personal reasons”, RGFC said. Stephen Heslop, the head of RGFC’s bakery and bakery ingredients business, will replace Gibson.

The company has given an update on its performance during the first six months of the year. RGFC said it is “confident” it will “meet market expectations” for 2007 and plans to give more details of its performance at its interim results in September.

However, the company said sales from its bakery ingredients business were slightly down on the year, although it insisted the division’s key trading period is in the second half of the year. Sales volumes from its bakery arm are up on 2006, RGFC added.

Revenue from its Napier Brown Foods sugar business is “significantly ahead” of the same period last year, RGFC said.
