UK dairy group Robert Wiseman Dairies has said its sales volumes and turnover for the year to 3 April 2004 are in line with market forecasts.

Group finance director Billy Keane said the company is confident it will deliver good results for the year.

The company said the expansion of its Droitwich Spa facility was completed in October 2003, increasing capacity from 350 million to 500 million litres per year. Production levels at the site are currently running at over 7.5 million litres per week and will be further boosted from 1 April when the company commences deliveries to an additional 44 Tesco stores in the south of England.

“This new contract with Tesco, along with new store allocations from Netto that started in January 2004, means that we are optimistic our track record of volume growth is likely to be maintained for the new financial year. We are therefore active in our search to locate a suitable site for a distribution depot to service more efficiently the London and Southeast market and would anticipate progressing this project in the new financial year,” the company said.

The company’s full year preliminary results are due to be announced on 11 May 2004.
