Pesto maker Sacla has expanded its portfolio in the UK with the launch of a range of dried pasta products.

The line is aimed at the high-end of the market and Sacla has highlighted its “authentic” credentials. The pasta is sourced from Puglia in southern Italy and made with Italian durum wheat. It is dried “very slowly” to “preserve and protect the fabulous flavour”, the Italian family-owned company said.

The new line will include Fusilli, Penne Giganti and Conchiglie, all with an RRP of GBP2.19 (US$3.48).

A spokesperson for the group also confirmed today (27 March) that Sacla has appointed former Associated British Foods executive Matryn Gilbert as commercial director. Gilbert will be responsible for driving growth of the group’s ambient and chilled products.
