British supermarket group J Sainsbury is to invest £500m (US$714.3m)
in new stores and refurbishments in London over the next three years.

The new stores will include around 20 local stores, two Sainsbury’s Centrals
and five supermarkets, complementing the group’s current 104 stores in the capital.
The investment programme is expected to create 3,000 new jobs.

"We are committed to expanding our business here and serving the population
and their diverse needs for good, fresh food at competitive prices," said
chief executive Peter Davis.
