UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has recalled its own-brand ‘Freefrom Gluten and Wheat’ biscuit range after a routine quality check identified gluten traces in some of them.

The company recalled 200g packs of Freefrom cookies in Coconut & Raspberry, Coconut & Chocolate, and Stem Ginger & Lemon Flavour varieties, and Freefrom shortbread in plain, Chocolate & Orange Flavour, and Shortbread with Raspberry-flavoured Jammy Bits varieties.

The products are labelled as Freefrom Wheat and Freefrom Gluten and form part of Sainsbury’s Freefrom products range, aimed at consumers with food allergies and food intolerances.
