Somerfield has announced a restructure to the marketing team, effective from Monday 17 September.

Ed Owen, former commercial director, will move to marketing where he will have key responsibility for consolidating and enhancing development in the areas of store concepts, own brand and merchandising.

As a result, the department will now include the concept and forecourt teams, headed by Angela Ham and Mark Towler and the own brand teams, headed by Joanna North.

Ed’s responsibilities will also include Steve Tremlett, store format director, and the concept development team.

Ian Roope, as head of range and process development, will continue to manage his existing team but will adopt a dual responsibility covering marketing and buying.
