Tesco has created a new role of commercial director as the UK’s largest retailer looks to drive more value from its sourcing.
In this newly-created role, Tesco veteran Kevin Grace will be asked to “leverage its scale and to create more value for Tesco in how it buys and sources products and services”, the company said.
“He’ll also have responsibility for ensuring our category management model is world class”, the company added.
When Grace takes up his new role, he will join the executive committee. Since 2006, Grace has served as property services director for Tesco.
He has previously worked for wholesale fruit and vegetable distributor Hilliards before moving Tesco in 1982. Grace has also served as a store manager, support office director, COO of operations in Korea and Poland CEO.
