Two litres of Fresh n Lo will cost GBP1.06 (US$2.03). The retail giant claims the milk is GBP0.10 per litre cheaper than standard milk sold in by other big retailers.

Fresh n Lo has been available in Scotland for around 30 years and is being introduced in England and Wales now for the first time.

David Wood, Tesco dairy category director said: “As customers wrestle with increasing household bills it is important that we help them combat inflation and that is why we are introducing Fresh n Lo milk.”

The milk will be available only in larger Tesco stores and will sit alongside standard, organic and localchoice milk, which was launched in May last year, the company said.

A spokesperson for Tesco told just-food: “Fresh n Lo won’t be available in Tesco Express stores. The milk is certainly more family focused, hence the two-litre pack, but that is not to say it won’t be more widely available at a later date.”
