A second strike in the dispute at Tesco’s Scottish distribution centre has been suspended.
The 24-hour work stoppage that was due to begin at noon today (5 June) has been suspended to allow union and company officials to begin negotiations over contractual issues and union representation.
“Tesco have decided to come to the table and begin a dialogue about loss of pay, particularly overtime and premium rates, that would have come into effect with the new contracts,” a spokesperson for the T&G union told just-food.
Tesco was not immediately available for comment.
