Leading UK supermarket operator Tesco has announced it will venture into the competitive telecoms market in a joint venture with Cable & Wireless.
A fixed line service, Tesco Telecom will use Cable & Wireless Carrier Pre-Selection (CPS) technology, which frees users of the need for PIN codes and prefixes. There will be no need to install dedicated boxes in order to use the new service.
Servista will handle the billing, while Vertex Customer Management will offer user support.
Tesco Telecom is due to launch in the early summer.
