Tata Global Beverages, the owner of the Tetley tea brand, has launched a range of biscuits in the UK.

Gaffer biscuits, sold in Chocolate Chip, Golden Crunch and Ginger varieties, will initially be on sale in Nisa stores. Sold in packs of six, the biscuits will be available for a promotional price of GBP1.00 (US$1.59) until 4 December, after which they will have a RSP of GBP1.29. The biscuits are produced under licence by Yorkshire bakery Grandma Wilds.

Tetley marketing manager Anand Gandesha said: “Tea is one of the top three top-up items in convenience stores, so it makes sense to have this range of biscuits available there to partner a good cup of Tetley tea.”

The launch of the biscuits will be supported by a marketing plan including in-store point of sale activities, the company said.

The company entered into UK food market for the first time in September, with the launch of branded scones.
