Thorntons, the UK chocolate maker, is launching its first TV campaign in the UK for two years in time for Christmas, a significant trading period for the company.
The ad – dubbed ‘Carol of Believers’ – runs alongside a three-for-two campaign on Thorntons’ Christmas products.
The three months around Christmas fall in the first half of its fiscal year and account for 40% of the company’s sales. In recent years, the dependence on the festive period has been a factor in Thorntons reporting losses in the second half of its financial year, which are the six months from January to June.
