UK baker Tindale & Stanton has claimed it is “business as usual” at the company despite the firm being placed into administration.
Tindale & Stanton, which makes own-label bakery goods for the UK and Spanish markets, is looking for a buyer.
“We are currently trading as normal,” a spokesperson told just-food. “Obviously there is a degree of uncertainty but a buyer is being sought.”
The company supplies sweet and savoury baked products and bread to retailers across northern England, the Midlands and parts of Spain.
Sales at the UK baker have slumped in recent years as consumers turn to healthier options. Meanwhile margins have been put under pressure as the group failed to pass higher commodity costs on to consumers.
