Danish Crown’s UK arm Tulip has acquired four meat companies from chilled meat producer Parkam Food Group.
Under the deal, Tulip has added Parkam Foods, Trophy Foods, Transfoods and Freshway Foods to its portfolio for an undisclosed sum.
Tulip said the acquisition will “further strengthen Tulip’s position as the UK’s leading supplier of pork, cooked meats, bacon and sausage products to the retail and foodservice sectors”.
It added that the deal will provide an opportunity to gain entry into new beef and poultry markets.
Tulip CEO Steve Murrells said: “The deal to buy the companies further strengthens our position as the UK’s leading supplier in our existing categories and at the same time affords us the opportunity to enter new sectors.
“We will now be working closely with the companies’ management teams to ensure their smooth transition into the Tulip Group and I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities that the purchase will provide.”
