Consumer goods giant Unilever is continuing to roll out its Choices labelling scheme in its global markets, a spokesperson for Unilever UK told just-food this afternoon (7 November).
“Its already launched in some countries, the Netherlands and the US for example,” Unilever said. “The plan is to roll it out globally.”
According to Marketing Magazine, the company plans to introduce the scheme to the UK next year and in all regions by 2008.
“The aim of the label is to make it easier for consumers to choose healthy foods,” the company told just-food. “The logo is only used on products that meet certain health standards. These guidelines are based on WTO [World Trade Organisation] health and nutrition standards.”
