Unilever has confirmed that it is looking to expand its Peperami offering in the UK by developing new products in the coming year.
Responding to media speculation that Unilever was planning to give Peperami a “healthy” makeover, a spokesperson for the consumer goods giant told just-food that the company is currently mulling product launches.
“I can confirm that we are looking at product innovations, but we have nothing to announce at this stage. Any new products will be an addition to the range rather than a repositioning of the brand,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson denied the suggestion that Unilever was planning to ditch Animal, Peperami’s animated brand character.
“He will be around for the launch,” the spokesperson said.
