US doughnut maker and retailer Krispy Kreme has announced its plans to open a second store in the UK, in Enfield in North London.
The company, which has over 345 stores across North America, Mexico and Australia, opened its first UK store in Harrods in London in October last year and plans to open a total of 25 stores in the UK over the next five years.
Don Henshall, managing director of Krispy Kreme UK, said the company had received a “warm reception” in the UK with its Harrods opening. He added that opening a second store in the UK would be a “significant step” towards achieving the company’s UK expansion plans.
Krispy Kreme said it has also secured a site for a 4,000 sq ft factory store from Tufton Land off the A3, which is due to open early in 2005.
