UK supermarket group Waitrose is launching a review of its supply chain.

The company said that the move was necessary in order to adapt its supply base to its rapidly evolving formats, which now include stores in service stations and convenience outlets.

“We are the fastest-growing food retailer in the sector, so we need to ensure we’re shaping our business in the best possible way for that growth,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food this afternoon (18 September).

However, the spokesperson insisted, the review will not result in redundancies.
